…Three Pillars of Success…
(An Expository Essay on How to Become a Successful Professional Someday)
“Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time and our bodies and our words into instruments of love and hope” (Head, 1998). What does it takes to become someone someday? Is it the reality that we are rich or we belong to a known family or clan? Is it the factor of our scholastic intelligence? Or is it our attitude of being thrifty or frugal.
Personally, I believe that to become a successful professional someday, one must acquire three things.
To always have a discipline in one’s self…
As human beings, we tend not to control ourselves especially in times of pleasure and enjoyment. We forget the nature of preparing for the future and focusing to what is present. However, in the midst of all the things that come into our lives, I believe that we must always exercise discipline within ourselves. By having such discipline within ourselves we will be able to control our unwanted attitudes.
To always have a decision…
As a rational being, we always have the capacity to decide. We can always choose to put things in order. We can always have what is good and to avoid what is wrong. We cannot say that life is according to the circumstances that are happening to us but it is all about the choices that we are taking in life. Always decide for what is good and right.
To always set your priorities in life…
In our life priorities are existing realities that in their nature are essentially good. However, we have this what we called “hierarchy of values.” Thus, in life we must always choose our priorities in life. We must always choose the higher good as our number priorities.
In doing these three pillars I believe that we will be able to attain success in our individual endeavors in life. We will be able to achieve our dream as a common reality that is included and given in the circles of life.
